Everyone's heard a lot about anarchism. It often functions as a boogeyman, the natural consequence of some apocalyptic event, or even an aesthetic. These indirect exposures to anarchism often lead to misunderstandings, equating anarchy to mob rule, populism (whether right- or left-wing), or libertarianism (e.g., anarchocapitalism). This (anarchy) summer, we'll read about and discuss anarchy to correct some of these misconceptions. We'll begin with some classic introductory texts followed by more contemporary literature. Anyone interested in learning more about anarchism and discussing it is welcome!

The schedule is included below. This summer we're reading Anarchism and Other Essays by Emma Goldman, The Conquest of Bread by Peter Kropotkin and more.
